Lunch

Lunch is not provided, so students should bring a bag lunch and beverage that does not require refrigeration or heating. We recognize that peanut allergies represent a health and safety hazard, which can have serious consequences for those who have such an allergy. In order to protect these students and staff from an environment that may be harmful to them because of such an allergy, all nuts and peanuts, including products that use or contain nuts and peanuts or use peanut oils, are prohibited from entering school grounds and buses and should not be part of any lunch.

Health Form

Each student must have a parent or legal guardian complete the health form in conjunction with a physician. In addition, all prescription medication taken by a student must be listed on the health form. Medication must be dispensed by the camp nurse or director and must be in a pharmacy-labeled container with a form signed by the student’s physician authorizing the administration.

Lice/Nit Policy

Although an unpleasant topic, lice epidemics are present in many schools. ECF Summer Programs makes every effort to keep the programs lice free. If a child has lice, his/her group will be checked as well as any siblings or bus children that have come in contact with the child. Head checks are carefully and sensitively conducted. ECF Summer Programs has a No Live Lice policy—children cannot return to the program until they are lice free. It is imperative that any child who has been treated for live lice have a second treatment seven days later to address any live lice resulting from nits. Controlling lice is an arduous process. The best prevention is for all children to start the program lice free. Please check your child thoroughly before the start of the program. If you discover lice at any time during the program, please report it to the program director immediately. Early detection will help us to control a program- wide epidemic. Upon request, we would be happy to furnish parents with information on lice detection and prevention.
