A Completely Free Funded Program

Young Dancemakers Company encourages young people to be original, to be themselves within the art form of dance. Company members represent diverse social, economic and ethnic backgrounds with one goal, to create and perform their own work. The company aims to involve community, provide diversity in the arts, and expand dance outreach to young people.

Young Dancemakers Company, offering motivated urban youth a unique opportunity not otherwise available to them, is made possible by foundation funding, individual contributions and the Ethical Culture Fieldston School.

The Company is grateful for the generous support through the years of the Richenthal Foundation, the Joseph S. Kornfeld and Emily Davie Foundation, the Surdna Foundation, the Harkness Foundation for Dance, Jody and John Arnhold, the New York Times Company Foundation, individual contributors, and this year the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
